Time-tested Thai formulas for modern herbal products
with a long history of use, each with its composition, indications and dosage already set by Thailand's Ministry of Public Health. Notify them as listed, or work with TIBD to develop them into registered herbal medicines (Category B) and evidence-based herbal health products (Category C).
Notifiable formulas: 2 product types, 3 lists
The Herbal Products Act B.E. 2562 (2019) divides herbal products into herbal medicines and herbal products for health. The announcement lists the formulas of each type in its annexes.

Thai traditional medicine formulas
Multi-ingredient formulas from Thai traditional medicine texts. The label text is called the indication (sapphakhun).

Herbal-derived medicines
Single-herb medicines such as turmeric, andrographis and centella. The label text is called the indication.

Herbal products for health
Products for health care such as black ginger, garlic and triphala. The label text is called a health claim.
Capsule counts follow the announcement. In the formula search below you can filter every list by dosage form.
From a listed formula to developed herbal medicines and health products
The Thai FDA accepts a documented history of traditional use as safety evidence, so these formulas are a starting point that does not have to be proven from scratch. The further a product moves from the listed formula, the more data it needs, and the more it becomes the brand's own.

From a listed formula to a product ready to file
Once you have chosen a formula, the remaining work is making the raw materials, formula and documents match the announcement. The TIBD team does this work together with brand owners.

Formula review and filing documents
We check whether your formula and label text qualify for notification, detailed notification or registration, then prepare the data and supporting documents for the filing.
