KU Innovation Contest Season 5 marks another significant milestone in the collaboration between the academic sector and the public sector in advancing the vision of an “Innovation-Driven City.” The initiative aims to sustainably enhance the quality of life for the people of Bangkok.

The Foundation of Collaboration: Government × University

On 18 August 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was officially signed between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Kasetsart University. The agreement was represented by Dr. Damrong Sriphraram, Acting President of Kasetsart University, and Associate Professor Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok.

This partnership seeks to create opportunities for the younger generation to actively participate in proposing solutions for urban development. Through systematic processes of analysis, critical thinking, and innovation design, students are encouraged to address real-world, area-based challenges in Bangkok.

During the ceremony, the Governor delivered a special lecture entitled:
“Bangkok’s Challenges: Innovation for Enhancing Quality of Life.”
The lecture highlighted key urban challenges across social, economic, environmental, and quality-of-life dimensions, emphasizing the critical role of innovation in driving meaningful transformation.
