Brand owners
Many products draw on the same supplier catalogs. What sets them apart is easily copied, and competition soon comes down to price.
Differentiation your competitors cannot copy
begins with the ingredient
When every brand sources from the same catalog, how long can any one of them remain different?
TIBD and ITERG, the French technical centre for lipids, brought together brand owners, R&D teams and researchers who want lasting product differentiation through branded ingredients backed by a story, scientific evidence and intellectual property.

Why lasting differentiation starts with the ingredient, and the order in which a branded ingredient builds value: regulation, story, scientific evidence and intellectual property.
Turning an ingredient story backed by evidence into a brand asset rather than a line on the label.
How TIBD's R&D team modifies common extracts into distinctive ingredients (ingredient modification).
The journey of EstoLight® from ITERG research to an ingredient used in real cosmetic formulas.
ITERG, the French technical centre for lipids founded in 1943 in Bordeaux, presented EstoLight®: a plant-lipid dispersant with 99% bio-based content, made from castor oil without palm, that helps pigments, mineral UV filters and plant extracts disperse evenly in formulas. The session included joint tests with TIBD's R&D team on Thai extracts: black ginger, turmeric and mangosteen pericarp xanthones.

Much promising research has real commercial potential, yet lacks a clear route from the laboratory to an ingredient that brands are ready to buy.
An ingredient backed by its own story, scientific evidence and intellectual property is an asset that competitors cannot replicate.
